Thank you for attending our district workshop, “5 Practical Tips for Parents to Support Your Child’s Academic Success” with Dr. Mary Ehrenworth, Deputy Director of Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, Columbia University on April 18th.
Mary shared a great deal of information with us and we hope that you were each able to take away some important tips you could use with your children.
Attached is the article that Mary referred to that night, entitled Parents as Writing Partners. This article provides additional information as well as prompts you can use when supporting your children’s writing.
The following is a list of books that Mary suggested that evening to provide additional insight and information for parents. Mary pinpointed certain parts of these books as indicated on the list. These titles were provided to WORDS Bookstore in Maplewood and they will arrange to have those titles available for parents in our towns.
