We’re just 30 memberships shy of last year’s enrollment, and we’d love to beat that. Please help us reach that goal! For those who haven’t joined yet, read these answers to some frequently asked questions and complete the easy online membership form here.
Do I need to volunteer my time if I join the PTA?
No! You can commit as much or as little time as your schedule permits. And while we encourage parents and guardians to join us at monthly PTA meetings, you do not have to attend.
Why join the PTA?
You’ll be helping to create a positive and supportive community for the whole school: It’s a chance to speak out about things that are important to you at Tuscan and to get to know fellow families. Also, the weekly PTA newsletter is a great way to stay informed about upcoming events at the school.
Where do my dues go?
So many important things for our students! The PTA needs to raise at least $70,000 to fund new recess equipment, assemblies, the farmers market, field trips, classroom supplies such as Handwriting Without Tears workbooks, and additional initiatives that benefit our children and our school. Of your dues, $4 goes to national and state PTA associations that provide legal and administrative support and lobby on behalf of PTAs and students. Tuscan PTA keeps the rest.
What if I joined last year?
Great! But you need to renew every school year.
What if I have a little extra time in my schedule and want to volunteer?
Awesome! There are many opportunities to help. Keep an eye out for emails from your class coordinators and sign-ups in the newsletter for particular needs throughout the year.
That’s great about the kids, but what about me?
Good question! As a PTA member, you get discounts at Dell, Universal Studios, Disney World, SeaWorld, Hertz, Tea Collection clothing, and more!
