Tuscan Spring Concert
Chorus, Band and Orchestra Tuesday June 4th @ 7:00pm doors open for seating at 6:45pm all are welcome! This year’s Music In Our Schools Month was a great success. Thank You to all the parents who came and shared their musical talents with the classes. The students really enjoyed all of the live performances and look forward to more in the future.
We finished the month with a very special performance from Zach Hatcher, an up and coming Harpist who performed for the 4th and 5th grade students. The students were astonished to hear that he practices 6-8 hours A DAY ! We also received some great news about our district music program: South Orange/Maplewood School District Recognized Nationally for Schools’ Music Education Efforts As One of the Best Communities for Music Education, more about this distrinction can be found on the district site here. ~ Music and Chorus teacher Mrs. Van Tine ![]() Bed-head, bunny slippers, bathrobes and PJs - all seen in school on the Thursday before break - our annual pajama day was enjoyed by many and Tuscan School was able to collect over 430 pair of new pajamas to help others. Thanks to Mrs. Sinclair for bringing us together to help in this way. Also on Thursday, the Snowflake Assemblies were held. An annual school tradition of songs and singalongs - check back in January for photos and video from the assemblies. Tuscan celebrated gratitude and giving thanks in the annual Thanksgiving Assembly. Mrs. Van Tine, Music and Chorus teacher, directed the 4th & 5th Grade Chorus at two assemblies. Students also enjoyed presentations from several classes sharing the Thanksgiving theme. You may hear students at home singing or humming Oh, A Turkey Knocked, A Simple Song of Thanks, Hip Hop Turkey, Turkey Tango, I'm Grateful and others. |
