OMG! IT'S finally ENRICHMENT WEEK! After-school enrichment classes begin Thursday, April 21 and Friday, April 22.
The payment deadline is Monday, April 18 by check or by PayPal.
Students will go to the auditorium for attendance at 3:15. (Don't worry, we pick up kindergarten and ASP students!)
You'll pick them up from their enrichment classrooms at 4:30 on the dot! We'll have volunteers to help you find that room.
Important notes:
- If you are sending a sitter or caregiver to pick your child up, let them know which class your child is taking.
- Every child must be signed out.
- If your child is going to be absent for enrichment, please email tuscanenrichment@gmail.com so we don't call you and your emergency contact, trying to find your child.
We're still looking for enrichment volunteers. Volunteers earn a free $100 tuition! Email us! tuscanenrichment@gmail.com
We're looking forward to a fun and exciting session for everyone!
SAVE THE DATE - May 7 is the TUSCAN FAIR.
New entertainment, crafts, rides, food and more!
We will need your help to make it a great event.
Contact Mel Rose for info on volunteering.
Study Buddies Program
Is your child struggling with homework? Study Buddies - Columbia High School students - will work one-on-one with Middle School and Elementary aged students that struggle with homework completion. Although the CHS Study Buddies are not tutors, they can help students with time management and organization, project planning, staying on task, and taking appropriate breaks when needed. Study Buddies will bring their own homework to the student's house to model excellent homework completion behavior, and eventually will wean the student from the need for supervision. The fee for this program is $15 per hour. Families who are interested should fill out this form and email it to Alison Steiner at asteiner@somsd.k12.nj.us.

Parenting Workshop: "Connected Kids: Cyber-bulling & Media Parenting" Thursday, April 21, 7:30pm to 8:45pm
Speaker: Ms. Alissa Sklar, Ph D., who runs risk-within-reason.com, a consultancy project focused on kids, technology, and risky behaviors.
Our children are digital natives, growing up in a wired world we could never have imagined during our school years. The Internet places an incredibly powerful set of resources at their fingertips, allowing them to communicate, entertain and inform themselves at all times and in all locations. Laptops, iPads, and smartphones have fundamentally altered the way kids socialize with friends, do their schoolwork, learn about the world and communicate with others. The vast opportunities offered by these technologies come with distinct challenges and responsibilities.
Jefferson Auditorium, 518 Ridgewood Rd, Maplewood
RSVP to PTA President @ jeffersonpta518@gmail.com, if planning to attend the workshop to ensure sufficient speaker handouts.
Childcare will be available and provided by Parents and Girl Scout Cadette Troop (7th Graders with Red Cross Certification for babysitting) at $10 per child. Check in starts at 7:00pm. MUST RSVP to Troop20718@gmail.com, if childcare is required. Light snack provided by troop.
