Dear Tuscan Families,
The third and fourth graders have been introduced to a keyboarding program at www.learning.com. It is a structured program builds typing skills while providing feedback on typing speed and accuracy. I strongly recommend that they take the time to work on their keyboarding skills over the summer. After attaining
Tuscan students will have the opportunity to find out about the summer reading program on June 13 and 14. We have worked with the public librarians on the 2013 lists of primary (K-2) and intermediate (3-5) summer reading suggestions will soon be available on the District website, http://www.somsd.k12.nj.us.
We have a fantastic list of book suggestions. The libraries are air-conditioned with great programs, a great staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Please take advantage of our community’s wonderful resources, and make sure your children READ, READ, READ plenty of fiction and nonfiction. Reading opens up worlds of information and possibility, builds vocabulary, and helps minds remain vital and strong during the summer months.
