The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention. ~Oscar Wilde
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 2013/2014 Tuscan school year. Teachers and staff, we’re glad your back! Returning students and families, welcome back! New students and parents, welcome to our Tuscan family!
I hope to see all of you, old friends and new, at the FIRST DAY COFFEE tomorrow morning, Sept. 9th, after drop-off in the Tuscan Cafeteria. Meet other parents, swap first-day stories, pick our brains for Tuscan and PTA info, and sign up to help at Tuscan.
2013/2014 promises to be an exciting year. We anticipate visits
As Oscar Wilde said, “The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.” A heartfelt “THANKS!” to all the amazing Tuscan School PTA volunteers who have helped make the Tuscan experience what it is today. I hope you will become a member of your Tuscan School PTA, if you aren’t already, and join us this year as we work with Tuscan teachers and administration to create a rich and rewarding educational environment for all Tuscan students.
Our first PTA meeting will take place on Monday, September 23rd at 7pm with an exciting event. The award-winning children’s author and advocate Trudy Ludwig will discuss: Understanding Our Kids’ Online & Offline Social World: Friendships, Cliques & Power Plays. Thanks to your Tuscan School PTA, Ms. Ludwig will also spend the day working with our students to coincide with our school’s ROAR initiative (Respect Others Act Responsibly) launch. Please remember to say “Thank you” to your wonderful librarian, Roberta Baltin, for helping make this happen, and to WORDS bookstore who are donating 10% of her book sales at the event to Tuscan.
“It takes a village” has become part of our vernacular because it resonates with each of us parents in a special way. Come be a part of your Tuscan village by helping your Tuscan School PTA. People often ask me what the PTA actually does. Well, the Tuscan School PTA is actually all of you, and it’s a safe bet that if the lights are on at Tuscan, there are PTA volunteers inside hard at work. We are passionate about our school, and it feels good to be able to give back to all our children, our dedicated teachers and our community!
